The title "Rush of Lights" has a double meaning. It pertains to the rush of lights from cars on an old country road my grandparents used to live on, and the other meaning is when you see rush of lights when you're dying/passing. Each verse has its own meaning, and tells its own story. But the overall idea of the song is that "In this harp, in this swarm" of emotions "we'll seed again, from this ground, from this hole." No matter how dyer the situation is, we can find ground and grow from what has become empty.

LYRICS:
“Rush of Lights”
There steady love, leave your shoes at the door
It’s been awhile since you moved to the shore
Don’t you ever think that I, surely haven’t missed your heart
Drive in your car, as we scream against the tar
Stake out the night, cause everything was right
Give me reason to come back as we shiver in the cold
In this harp, in this swarm
We’ll seed again, from this ground, from this hole
Feel this fire, in our bones, in this thaw
Through rush of lights, this is love, this is home
Our hands all white with silence all around
Give you love and grace as we left you in the hills
Don’t you ever think that I won’t ever miss your heart
In this harp, in this swarm
We’ll seed again, from this ground, from this hole
Feel this fire, in our bones, in this thaw
Through rush of lights, this is love, this is home
In this harp, in this swarm
We’ll seed again, from this ground, from this hole
Feel this fire, in our bones, in this thaw
Through rush of lights, this is love, this is home
